James Stenglein grew up in Rochester, New York. After completing high school he entered into a vocational college to study machine tool technology. After being selected for an apprenticeship with Taylor Intruments James went on to work in various machine shops and leaned about CNC machining and programming. He later then went back to school at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology). James now works for Standex Engraving which  manufactures engraving machines and rolls for various products such as paper towels and composite lumber. In his free time, James isa mentor for FRC Team 346, the Robohawks.
